Finding that darn guild

Well, I was just speculating on insufficient information. My first DMing was when I was 11 . . . and . . . ouch . . . it wasn't pretty.
Don't remind me. I was just me and a friend, and we had so much magcial items (I didn't understand my npc couldn't also be a character) That we could easily take 100 pirates (AD&D Baby yeah!) And a black dragon. At level 5

I don’t think I am being encouraged to leave. I’ve played with this DM for many years and it’s been at least 8 since this incident. One thing that we have come to know about this DM is that he always needs a “whipping boy” Some one he can screw with and pick on. When you have players that do stupid things, like actually ask where the thieves’ guild is, finding the “whipping boy” is easy. You can punish and pick on these players for the stupid things they do. But what do you do when you have gotten rid of all the morons and only intelligent people remain at the table. Well, you make an idiot. You lead a player into making stupid actions through either cohesion or downright trickery.

You can also make a player out to be stupid by altering reality to make his actions stupid ones. Here is an example. Our low level party was walking down the road when we see a very large green dragon flying overhead (random encounter). Me and another party member decide to dive for the trees and hide. The other two parties members, one who is the DM’s buddy, decide to stand in the middle of the road with no attempt to conceal themselves. The Dragon, for whatever reason, swoops down to defecate on the people who are hiding. I would imagine a powerful and arrogant creature, which dragons are, to be more offended by the ones who chose not to hide or cower in his presence. Though I cant prove it, it looks to me like the DM altered logic to defecate on the players he wanted to defecate on. If we had stood on the road in defiance and his buddy had dove for the trees, I image logic would be altered for those on the road to be defecated on.
