Finer than Frog hair

My good friends over in the Frog Gigging thread inspired me to come up with this one...most of us in that thread are southern. I'd like to hear all those old witticisms that you learned as a kid from your grandparents, your neighbors...maybe you coined the phrase. Give us the phrase and what it is supposed to mean.

I'll start:
1. Dummer than owl sh#t: I suspect that one is self explanatory...
2. Its hotter than three mice fightin in a wool sock: I'm really not sure this one makes sense to me...but I've heard it several times.
3. Drunker than Cootie Brown: I never met good old Cootie...but he must have been a rounder.
