Fire and Ice

Damn I loved this movie as a kid. I cannot wait to get my grubby paws on it now.

I've had it for a while as well, albeit the single disc edition.

The artwork and animation are great, and the characters interesting but the plot is a bit weak.

Been waiting for this, too.

Hyp - Was yours a single disc?

Zan and Hyp - Were those versions available in the US markets?

Does it say anything on it that is regionally exclusive or that would lead you to believe it was created for your market specifically? I'm getting the feeling that somehow, someone managed to get the rights to produce that single disc version at some point in time, or did so without the rights, but/and wasn't able to do so in the USA (or why wouldn't they?)

*shrug*

I've got nothing. I'm vexed. :)

I don't know - got my copy in the UK. I don't have it to hand but I'll check this weekend and let you know about the regions. I have a feeling it's region 0, i.e. universal, but I'm not certain of that.

I wish someone 3.5 statted the characters from F&I. Anybody want to give this a shot? I reckon that the hooded character is a Ranger/Barbarian.

Well, Larn's a barbarian, for sure.

Ranger/Barbarian works for Darkwolf, I think, and whatever he is, he's got some Magic Resistance.

I reckon King Jarol is a fighter, as is his son.

Teegra's an aristocrat, I'd say.

Roleel's a sorcerer, or witch variant from the DMG, or maybe has some druid levels.

Nekron. Hmmm. Tough. I'd almost want to say a psionic instead of the traditional D&D wizard or sorcerer, which I don't think really fits, although if you just reimagined the magic system, then my guess would be sorcerer or wizard.

Juliana, wizard or sorcerer, even though you don't see her power exercised, she's described as ". . . and him she tutored in the black arts, and the powers of the mind."

I always loved the way that movie imagined magic: invisible, but clearly exceedingly powerful. Way cool.

UK purchase, eh? I've yet to hear of anyone in the USA having a copy of this. That's why I'm thinking it has never been released here in any form. Thanks for the info and any more you happen to come up with, though.:)
