Fire to Ice

Hi, I wish to use a wilder (starting at 1st level) from the expanded psionics handbook, only I want to make the character ice-themed and portray everything she uses (when it comes to her powers, manifestations etc) as Icey/frost-like. Also I was thinking about using the pyromancer prestige class but obviously changing all the fire to Ice stuff.

Any help I can get will be much appriciated.

I could use some guidance and help. I want to make sure it is balanced and will work. I know its mainly a fluff change but would like to hear any thoughts thankyou.

All the pyromancer's abilities are more energy damage themed than fire themed, so it really is just a matter of switching all the fire damage to cold damage, and changing the descriptions.

I think there was an official cryomancer in dragon magazine or a web enhancement or something, though. Not sure if it was 3.0 or 3.5.

The official cryokineticist is in the Frostburn suppliment.. v3.5

It's derived from the pyrokineticist, just switching some abilities for others.. and different prereq:s. I remember it being pretty sucky - worse than the pyro. But if you can borrow someones book, it'd be worth a peek - I don't know your preferences.

But I agree with starwed - the quick and dirty is just taking the pyro, and switching energy form - voila! instant Cryokineticist.

Or even simpler - just take energy powers as Wilder and only manifest the cold aspect. Perhaps you could get something in return for voluntarily crippling the powers (multiple energy => only cold), like a bigger damage dice or something.. talk to your DM.
