One more change is the O5E requires the targets be humanoids so the LU one can reanimate a zombie that has died while the O5E cannot (as the humanoid is now an undead). So the quick comparison (O5E vs LUe)
- 10 ft range vs Touch
- Must give all undead the same command vs Can give only some of the undead the same command and the rest no command.
- Upscale has a group attack option vs just upscale.
So looks like the LUe has some slight nerfs to it overall.
You are definitely old school at heart. Innovative, but still old school. It has always been and always will be, fireball.
You and me both. I'm not the type who normally makes a bunch of PCs just for fun, but I have about a dozen LU characters I've made just in the last few weeks.I’m new here. I really like what I have read about this product. I will most likely buy it. Hope I get some people to play it with me. I’ll probably have to dm it and provide the book. Disappoints me a little. I kinda want to play it.
That's a good point, so it is probably best left as a variant spell. Still, I am utterly convinced that the regular version needs an upgrade.
LU requires that the remains be mortal, though, and a zombie isn't mortal. One more change is the O5E requires the targets be humanoids so the LU one can reanimate a zombie that has died while the O5E cannot (as the humanoid is now an undead).
