Fireborn: Anyone played it?

Deverash

First Post
So, I came across an old FFG game, Fireborn, and possibly even have a group to run it with. Anyone here played or ran it? I'm curious how well it works in practice(the theory looks solid) and what doesn't work so I can make some fixes before we get started.

We didn't play it much but I did like it. I really enjoyed the flashback system and used to create some good stories but the PCs were not into that type of game so it didn't last.

Sorry if a bit late, but I am in the planning stages of running the game within a week or so.
If you started running the game already, I'm very eager to hear how it went.

I also got a G+ community page set up now to gather all the resources for the rpg, including making new ones.

I had the book lyign around for quite a while already, and finally got around finding the people to play it with.
If you do not have it, get the the eratta for it (Lost Lore) as it's pretty much essential.

There will be some rought edges to work out other then that, so I would insist you try to prepare yourself as best as you can to get the battles run smoothly.
The rules are not that hard, but it really takes some time to get around towards understanding it.

Some good sample battles beforehand, just to get used to the system is a good idea.
As well as preparing yourself with getting a GM screen printed.

I certainly will give out some more specific advice once I really start discovering the problems first hand, while running it.
They really could have explained things better in the books, but after the steep learnign curve things should be okay.

Interesting that you mention the book could've explain things better. I almost worked on the writing for Fireborn, but the editor I would've worked with couldn't explain the game/writing assignment to me in terms that I could understand, so I bowed out of the project. I've infrequently wondered what the final product looks like.
