I don't know... d20 and Firefly just doesn't match well IMHO.
d20, especially d20 Modern, just doesn't have the necessary finesse, it's too clumsy.

It does with Traveller d20.

Finesse? When it comes to Mal and Jane, there's nothing finesse about it.

Considering that Firefly spontaneously transforms into Kill Bill + Dawn of the Dead in Serenity, the capability to handle different genres come in handy, too.

I'm the guy who wrote those stats (I'm The Fireballed Mage on the WoTC boards), and I wrote them up before the movie. You know, back when River was cute, (mostly) helpless, very strange, and had shown no signs of turning into a teenaged death machine.

Yeah, after the movie River'd need a whole wack-load of feats and BAB's to do what she did.

Alternatively, you could use Traveller d20. Though Joss Whedon didn't know it, the show is made just right for Traveller.

Are you sure Joss didn't know it? Wash's statement of "Hang on, Travellers" in the pilot episode sometimes makes me think otherwise.

Well, she slapped the Man They Call Jayne around pretty good, too.

I might try this as a True 20 thing, but True 20 is sorta my new toy right now....and I somehow assume that any property with a big female following, like Firefly, would translate well to True 20.
