First go at custom spells

The theory from the discworld novels thatall libraries are linked by L-space, it is also linked to the idea that by using current books you can find books that have do and could exist, but they are instantly rerwritten, it's like paradox thingy (so hex the computer changes it then turns it back). Someone else could explain it better.

Pseudonatural Intervention
Maybe 5th but lower the save DC to 15? I agree that the psuedonatural template is better than the celestial etc., but the backlash is potentially pretty nasty.
That sounds like a good idea - I was thinking the save DC was maybe a little to high - the spell would be more fun if the backlask happened on occasionally rather than regularly. But having a look at the template again, it is probably need to be bumped up to level 5.

Mourne’s Inter-library Loan
Hmmm. Perhaps Conjuration (Summoning) would be better. Mo?
I reckon Summoning is a better descriptor - and as a level 4. With regards to the comment that it sounds provide a game mechanic bonus to knowledge rolls—while I reckon that this is an interesting idea, I'm not so sure. As olive mentioned, I'm more interested in it to find names for planar binding and that sort of thing - I think that if you could summon a book by subject - well that would give you a bonus to knowledge rolls, but searching by title and author makes the spell less useful in that regard, and I sorta like it that way.

I gave the spell a higher level because it seem to be a combination of fairly hefty divination and teleportation magic. But as noted:

The only one of these spells you really need to worry about the level for is the template one. None of the others are going to be cast under duress, so as long as the inventor can cast the spells you're fine.

So maybe 4th Olive? (seeing that poor old Mourne can only cast fourth level spells at the moment ;) )

The other two spells
Mourne is obsessed with collecting things like bugs, skeletons, bits and peices of magic creatues, demon and devil skeletons, so these spells help him in that regarded. The taxodermy spell was based on gentle repose so I kept it at level three - but it is pretty useless unless you want to keep or sell stuffed animals, so level one?

mo

Yup, 4th for PI, IIL at 5th and the other two at first.

Now Mourne just needs tospend the time and money on development ;)
