Clearly I have to break out my copy of Watchmen. It's been too long since I read it.

Sidenote:Trickstergod said:Yeah, they used the same name. The Silk Spectre is essentially analogous to Black Canary - who is also a legacy character, with the mother as the first Canary and her daughter as the second.
And I'd say Silk Spectre II was assertive - certainly more so than Nite-Owl.
As for the way the characters look, I'm not a fan of the Comedian's look - the hair is obviously fake. The gray should be a little better blended in with the rest of his hair; as it stands, the gray in his hair looks only nominally better than it is with the guy playing Reed Richards.
The woman playing Silk Spectre's also too skinny - she looks like some fashion model waif. Not that the Silk Spectre needs to be some overly fit, athletic looking superhero, but she should have a bit of meat on her.
And then Ozy. He needs to lose the Bat-armor. I'm actually fine with it on Nite-Owl - it makes sense for him. But Ozymandias has a relatively simple outfit and I don't see why something a little more comic accurate isn't used.
But Alan Moore never cared much for the original Nightshade, which is why Silk Spectre has elements of the Black Canary, of whom Moore was more of a fan of. The same with Rorschach. While undoubtedly influenced by the Question, Moore took more elements from Steve Ditko's earlier and more extreme objectivist vigilante, Mr.A.Klaus said:Silk Spectre, like all Watchmen characters, is analog to a Charlton Comics character. Well, the Charlton characters that Moore wasn't allowed to use were the direct analogues, but the influence of other characters is also apparent. Nite Owl, for instance, seems at least as reminiscent of Batman as he is of The Blue Beetle.Klaus said:Sidenote:
Black Canary is only a legacy character in recent years. Originally, she was from Earth-2 (the JSA Earth) and moved to Earth-1 to join the JLA and date Green Arrow.
