First Time Multiclassing.....please help

I don't seem to understand the addition of BAB's. Lets' say my 1st class (just making numbers up here with nothing in mind) has BAB of

LVL.........BAB
1.............+1
2.............+2
-----
7............+7/+2

and my 2nd class has

Lvl.............BAB
1................+1
2...............+2
------
9..............+9
10............+10

So I have a 7th level of the 1st class and a 1st level of the 2nd class. Do I add the BAB of +1 to both the +7 and +2? (to get a total BAB of +8/+3?

Yes, you end up with a BAB of +8/+3.

You just add up all your BAB's from the classes. If that puts your BAB past +6, +11 or +16, you get iterative attacks (0/-5/-10/-15).

So a Barbarian 10 / Fighter 5 / Ranger 5 will indeed have a BAB of 20/15/10/5, just like a Fighter 20.
