Five Nations thread (merged)

What is the text density like? Like in the ECS or Sharn (dense) or in Races of Eberron (sparse)?

In terms of text density (what sort of units would those be?), Five Nations is like Sharn.

Here's some questions...
What sort of info do they have on Cyre and their people?

Do they have anymore mentions of the rest of Breland? Since it seems that the entire nation is overshadowed by its biggest city.

Are Karnathi undead used for anything else other than militairy uses?

What are the prestige classes for each nation?

How much do the non-5 Khovairen Nations (Darguun, Droaam, Zilargo and so on) factor into the 5 Nations.

So does anyone have Five Nations? Any thoughts about it and what's in the book?

I picked it up at my FLGS yesterday, after pining for it all week. ;)

IMO, it's a very well put together book, with great touches like "Five things every Cyran knows." I like the approach of statting some of the major NPCs, and including in-depth adventure hooks -- overall, I'm quite pleased with it. :)

I also picked it up yesterday. My general impression of it is pretty good (although I too noticed the reused art :p )

The book has a good overview of the five nations that once made up the Kingdom of Galifar (Aundair, Breland, Cyre/Mournland, Karrnath, and Thrane). Each nation gets about 30-odd pages, covering topics such as roleplaying characters from the nation, government, plots & factions, foreign relations, adventures in the nation, and some specific locations. Each chapter also has at least one location mapped out (Wroat in Breland, Metrol in Mournland, etc.)

I haven't read this chapter fully, but in my quick scan I would say no. It sounds like the Karrnathi undead are kept separate from the rest of the population... in fact, they usually function in units completely separate from living soldiers. The average (living) Karrnathi is a bit creeped out by them.

Aundair - Knight Phantom
Breland - Dark Lantern
Cyre - Cyran Avenger
Karrnath - Bone Knight
Thrane - Silver Pyromancer

Very little, other than the "Foreign Relations" sections of each chapter.

My one complaint with the book is that there is a bit of inconsistancy between some of the chapters. From my quick scan, I feel that the Karrnath chapter in particular is not as well done as the rest of the book.

My discipline would probably use something like tagmemes per page, but allow me to state that I believe noone else should ever have to.

Eyeballing it is probably good enough.

Anything jump out at you as being particularly cool?

What kinds/how many maps are there, and how detailed?

Are there any new creatures?

Moved your question over here, Eric.

Cool: Madborn and Silver Pyromancer. Madborn cuz I run a Dark/Cthulhu-esque game and the Silver Pyromancer cuz I love arcane uses of positive energy.

Cool but rip-off: Defining one of the towers as basically Hogwarts with random charts for hallway encounters.

Maps: There is a large Khorvaire map with clearly defined borders and zoom in maps with more cities and roads of each and maps for cities in each of the main five nations.

Creatures: Each chapter has some. There are:

Dragonhawk
Magebred Animals
Mourner
Shroud of Death and Despair
Steel Kraken
Karrnathi Bulette
Madborn template
Silvereye Marauder
Wingwyrd
