Flaming Sphere and Other Actions

Example#1: A wizard casts flaming sphere and uses it to attack Enemy#1. After his turn, Enemy#2 runs in and out of the wizards threatend space (provoking an attack of opportunity). Does the wizard get an attack of opportunity against Enemy#2 while his spell is in existance? And if he does take the attack of opportunity, does the flaming sphere currently in existance remain for him to command on his next turn?

Example#2: A wizard casts flaming sphere and uses it to attack Enemy#1. The next round the wizard casts magic missle at Enemy#2. The third round the wizard directs the flaming sphere (that stayed in existence) at Enemy#1 again. Is this legal?

A Flaming Sphere is not a Duration: Concentration spell, so it remains until its duration expires normally.

So yes, the wizard could make an AoO, assuming he threatens the area.

In case 2, not only is it legal, but it's sub-optimal.

He could, in fact, attack with the Flaming Sphere all three rounds. Directing a Flaming Sphere is an MEA, so in round two he can cast a spell like Magic Missile (Standard Action) and direct the Sphere to attack again (MEA).

You can even cast Flaming Sphere in round one, and again in round two, and direct two Flaming Spheres each round (assuming you do nothing else except 5' step or take free actions, since two MEAs eats up your whole round...)

Yes. The flaming sphere does not require concentration. It will stay where it was and continue to burn.

Yes. Actually, it only takes a move equivelent action to control the sphere. So the wizard could use a MEA to direct the sphere at enemy #1 and cast a magic missile at enemy #2.

I've had casters summon two of the things and direct them both on the same round, as MEA+MEA is doable in one round.

Unless Flaming Sphere's duration is "concentration", you can set it somewhere, and forget it. i think its a standard action to move it, but to leave it in place doesnt take anything. however, if it specifically says concentration, then it dissapears if you do anything else.
