D&D 4E Flanking in 4e

the Jester

Legend
So it looks like you can now flank with a ranged weapon, or even unarmed if you can make a close or area attack. Am I reading this right, or am I missing an obscure passage that clarifies this?

All I've seen on the subject is on pg. 285 of the PH- must be adjacent to and on opposite sides of the enemy, and the key passage that I have seen:

4e PHB said:
Must be able to Attack: You and your ally must be able to attack the enemy, whether you're armed or unarmed. If there's no line of effect between your enemy and either you or your ally, you don't flank.

Yes, you can flank with any weapon, even improvised weapons (which includes unarmed attacks).

Everything else is the same.

by the rules, you can be invis and flank, and help an ally flank.

as long as your not blinded, dazed, dominated, dying, helpless, petrified, stunned, surprised, or unconscious you can flank, as long as your adjacent.

You can flank with ranged weapons, as long as you are adjacent, but the ranged attacker will suffer OA when attacking..
