Flanking Question

I was simply amazed at this degree of coordination. I still haven't come up with a good name for this maneuver... maybe the "Maypole of Death."

Circle of death.

You're a bit late. ;)

Of course if the creature has an INT of 1 or greater, it should be able to step back 5' and make it impossible for all enemies to get flanking bonuses without opening themselves up to AoOs and/or making themselves inelligible to take full-attacks...IMO, only a mindless creature that just stands there like that.

In fact...I've got two dogs and we play fight all the time...usually me and the smaller dog vs. the bigger one(Otto). Otto will never allow himself to remain between me and the other dog for more than a second or two...and he's never been in a real fight in his life.

Our DM referrs to it as "the flanking dance".

Swing your partner
'Round and 'round,
Sneak Attack,
He hits the ground.

Now promenade!

Dang-we need to get a rogue in our party again, so I can use this rhyme in-game. Actually, I wouldn't have gotten to when we did have a rogue, come to think of it. His theory of sneak attacks was a bowshot from within 30' against an opponent who didn't know he was there. I can't remember him ever soiling his hands with melee combat ...
