FLGS database?

First Post
we have so many tech savvy folks, ana rmy of reporting individuals and a lot of folks looking for a FLGS in a town they are visiting or moving to. is it possible we could put together an FLGS database?

could bring traffic to enworld, and help a lot of folks. :)

anyone here up to the challenge?

Yes we are all Tech Savy. But most of us are Lazy. Yes, this could be done.

Just a side note, when I go visit a new town, I use a device called, "The Phone Book." Usualy located between the beds in the hotel room your company is paying for :) With a little bit of adventure I would head out and go "find" this place.

Worse case, you get to see some "interesting" parts of the City you are visiting :)

well, i didn't knwo that one existed, but it does display the problem with most of them. it is unchecked. i checked memphis and it lists kb toys and soem bookstires, no flgs. and at elast 2 of the places it lists i have tried, and found nothing. it lists our local waldenbooks, which has the mm and phb from 3.0 and that is all!

i asked them if they would carry soem more game supplies (while placing an order) and they informed me that there were probably only 3-4 gamers in all of memphis (i have had more than that in my living room) and that they asked corporate not to send them gamebooks anymore.

i think a grassroots approach would eb better. not a lost of every store that might carry pokemon cards :)

actually, i tried this in several cities wihtout luck. memphis especially struck me as difficult to find a gamestore in. none in the phone book, none of the sites listed on wotc list have anything but cards.

the phone book isn't going to give oyu a suggestion for the best, for content or for proximity, as a database here would :)

and while most if us may be lazy, not all of us are or you wouldn't be reading this here :)

neither sells d+d stuff :)

just card games and board games...

edit: my apologies after a call triple play said they were "pretty bare" for d+d stuff, or rpg's.

comic cellar says they have "some" but are a store mostly for other things...

Didn't Arthur Q start a thread compiling a list of stores. It was when he was on his betterment of ENWorld kick, encouraging new galleries and community stuff like the store list.

Yes, he did.

Clay, I sent Art a file that I compiled from a few different threads about a year and a half ago (including one that I started for this very reason). I'll be happy to send it to you as well if you're going to be the new pointman for this. But it's just a big word doc, not a database file. Email me if you want it.
