Another vote for Games Plus , especially for their exceptional selection of minis, which includes the much praised Confrontation figures from Rackham, as well as EVERYTHING from Reaper. They also carry Vallejo paints and brushes. And, an entire corner of their store is devoted to Games Workshop stuff.

There is a gameroom in the back, but if you've been to the Chicago gamedays then you already know that. :)

The Metra runs a train stop practically right in front of the store. If you cannot make the drive, it might be worth an afternoon train ride.

There are a no stores in Chicago that match Games Plus in my opion but the Gamers Paradises do have some good deals on occassion.

I agree that it's great to see so many Chicago players.

Any of you guys at the last few En World Days at Games Plus? Good stuff.

i shall check it out today. :) what i shall do, i think, is get off the train at the fullerton station, hike it on over to Graham Crackers, and then possibly take a shot on over to Gamers Padadise. any ideas what times these stores close? i get off work at 6pm.

ahhh... exercise, how strange you have grown to me. ;)

Fullerton to Graham Crackers is a fair hike (20-30 min?), and according to their website, they close at 7 on weekdays. It'll probably be quicker to switch over to the brown line and get off at Diversey. I don't know when Gamer's Paradise closes, though, so you may be cutting it close!

you might be right, i'll give it a shot. but hey, the weather is nice, i'll decide whether i want to take a walk on the way there. ;) maybe i'll get off at brown line diversey, then walk to graham crackers after GP, then walk to red line fullerton. :)

well, graham crackers proved to be a rather far walk even from the fullerton station - don't know if i'll go back there again.

the gamers paradise was rather easy to get to from the diversey station, though. i can't beleive how many times i drove past the Century theaters and never realized that they are part of the Century mall. d'oh! :)

i guess what i'll probably do from now on is go to chicago comics for comics, and just hit the clark bus if i want to go shopping for gaming.

by the way, i checked out the arms and equipment guide, and races of faerun, and wasn't impressed enough with either of them to buy them. perhaps i'll change that opinion in the future. i did buy savage species though. :)

Yup, GC is a pretty good hike from either Fullerton or Diversey. I guess it's not a great location in terms of accessibility by the El. Glad that Gamer's Paradise seems to work well enough for you, though.

I'd like to check out Games Plus one of these days, but it's really just too far and too inconvenient to get to (anyone who's used the Metra to go out that far will know what I mean), unless I'm going for a special reason, like Game Day, or buying several books at once (but then, I'd probably just order them online and have them shipped to me).
