D&D 3E/3.5 flying castles in 3.5

To make the stronghold builder's guide fit with 3.5 rules, what have you done with strongholds that are able to move. Does a 10' x 20' stronghold change to a face of 20'? Seems like a stupid question, but by the rules for animated objects, it should apply.

Since it's not attacking or something similar, it's just setting -- even if the whole thing moves -- so 10 x 20 is fine. If it was moving a lot relative to itself (the door swings way over past the far wall, which bends inward suddenly, as the floor pivots wildly, etc.) then I'd give it a 25' space, the area it would 'control' in combat.

If you read the facing rules carefully the square they take up is the monsters fighting space not the actual space it takes up. It need that much space to fight or it takes penalties. Since flying castles don't fight they don't have to be square.
