For those who don't play D&D (or its clones), what keeps you engaged with EN World?

I can maybe partially agree with that.

Though, I have also seen ongoing threads for Dungeon Crawl Classics, (occasionally) GURPS, (recently) Daggerheart, and a few other things.

DCC has a fairly strong fandom and overlaps with the D&D community a reasonable bit. Daggerheart is kind of a new hotness.

I admit a pleasant surprise when something like a GURPS discussion takes off at all, though.

Whether here or in my day-to-day face-to-face life, I've been surprised to find that there are people interested in ttrpgs -and open to playing more than D&D- than expected. A lot of the time, that discovery has come from being more open about what my own interests are.

Oh, you can absolutely find it elsewhere; its just this place is particularly D&D-centric even as RPG spaces go. Which it comes by legit after all, but its a thing you have to account for.

Giving up nearly all social media was the best thing I've done for my mental health and productivity. It is on par with giving up smoking. I probably still spend too much time here and on Reddit, but I am careful with the topics I engage.
This right here is where I am at, ditching social Media is making my life better a little bit at a time. I still get sucked into stupid arguments with people who are half my age and a 10th of my experience but c'est la vie. i am down to Reddit and Bluesky now but I am about to cut out all the none gaming follows on bluesky because the ttrpg community on there is really solid and fun but the real world bleeds in just a bit to much.

Habit. And that I've found no place more enjoyable. And right now for me that's a pretty low bar.
Really coming to the conclusion that I would rather spend my time creating RPG stuff than reading or commenting about general RPG stuff.

It's one of few well-populated and well-moderated RPG-related forums still in active use. I'm just here to monitor TTRPGs General to hear what folks are saying about the industry outside one particular company and their game.
Yeah, I go in cycles in terms of how active I'm on the site. But even when I'm very busy or go on a strict social-media diet, I still find myself checking out the site for the news post fairly regularly. Its a bit of a goldilocks gaming forum. When I get into a new system I'll go to Reddits, forums, and/or Discord channels focused on that system, but ENWorld has remained a constant, regardless of what I'm playing.
