For those who run in the Scarred Lands what is your favorite area to adventure

First Post
My groupe has never played here before the 3 sessions ago that I brought them in. I'm running in Darakeene and they are all really enjoying this new world.

What area has your groupe been in and what have they liked/disliked?

My group are currently in the Hornsaw Forest. They are having fun being attacked not only by low gorgon's but the various plant life.

scarred lands

my groupe has encountered:
Inclement weather
Dangerous plant life
goblin bandits
an encounter with a slithering tracker that they thought was a vampire (scared them good because they are lev 1-2)
and an inteligent/cultured Ogre -worked well because 1 of my players has gamed a lot in the Mystra setting - so he is the self-appointed spokesman on demi-human and humanoid rights. This has made for a LOT of rollplaying with the other players and NPC's of the Scarred Lands!

Well since you asked,

So far I'm really enjoying Hollowfaust. Though I have a feeling one of my players REALLY wants to get the Shelzar. (Which I'm willing to accommodate!) But country wise, I think I'd like to be in Albadia. Sure it's cold and the people aren't always friendly. BUT then there are those nice Helliann gals that enjoy being topless! ;) *is kidding*

Seriously, I'd love to run a campaign in Albadia, especially if I could get them to go into the Titanshome Mountains...but would they come out is the question? ;)

I'm also considering getting Termana involved...at least after they put out the HC for it. Blood Bayou though remains high on my list of places to visit but definately not stay. :)

Nice! You might also want to get them over to Meliad for fighter training. They do good work there. ;)

I also had them encounter "Carnack the Magnificent purveyou of FINE elixiers and scrolls" on his way to Meliad for a "mage fair".
they didn't have the coin to buy what he was selling and they were headed north on a mission to a monestary, but they have heard of the fighters colleges and the "Vault of the north", they may well go to the capital to check it and the mage fair out.

I for one would love to play in hollowfaust. Perhaps I would be from there . . . Sanackranib of Hollowfaust has the right ring to it.

Sounds excellent. If you haven't already, do pick up the Hollowfaust sourcebook. While there are a few glaring errors it doesn't detract from the book overall.

Hrm, my group is fairly new as well, but we started off the official adventure in Zathiske, and they're heading north into the Heteronomy of Virduk. Yes, civilized lands for now, but that doesn't help them much since they're on the run.

Come to think of it, I really need to update that pesky story hour...

Well my group focused on Mithril for many of their early adventurers then went about and helped fight the orcs of the planes of Lede and are running through the Serpent in the Fold module. Good stuff so far.

As a DM I particularly enjoyed dumping them in the middle of the festering fields. We got Hollow Knights on quests, lots of undead and very little choice about where to go. You're close to the scar (which is pretty important in my world) but you can still escape east.
The group pushed up ultimately to Hollowfaust, which allowed me to forshadow the gloomy danger of the Hornsaw (and then plunge them into it much later).

As a gaming area I think the healing circle is perfect. It has just about everything you could want for an awesome game. I've raved about the set-up at lenght before so I won't go long here but its definitely screaming for some 1-20th level game play.

I did the Mithril thing at the begining.... not my favorite actually. If I were going to stuff the PCs somewhere run by Holy Knights my vote would definitely be the gleaming Valley. Its so much creepier. (especially because I would make at least a knight or two secretly evil and put some kind of mask over my face so that the players wouldn't see any facial features...)
(There are some terrible thigns you can do with invisible suits of armor..)

I want Termana. I want it real bad.
