The Table of Contents for both Heroes of Faerun and Adventures in Faerun.
Picked the books up this morning and love what I’ve seen so far. I’ll answer whatever questions I can here.
Heck, the price for both books might be worth all the cartography alone. The Schley map of the setting is gorgeous.
I mean, if you want to be technical, the "Sword Coast" proper is only between Waterdeep and Baldur's Gate, neither Icewind Dale or Calimport are on the Sea of Swords.I see it's still basically the Sword Coast. Calimshan and Icewind Dale are on that coast, and the Moonshaes are off of it. The only significant expansion away from the Sword Coast is the Dale Lands.
I also wish they had included Baelnorn in the bestiary.
Reeeeeaaaly, that's wild. Any other juicy details about the Old Empires? They did not, I repeat NOT, shy away from using real-life Egyptian deity names in the Mulhorand section. The current deities of Mulhorand remain Horus-Re and the like.
The PC book has plot points in it? I mean, I guess it has to, to have history.Me: (encourages new-to-D&D players of my new Phandelver campaign to read up on The North section)
Heroes of Faerun: (spoils the plot of Phandelver & Below: The Shattered Obelisk)
I saw that, but relatively few pages cover the whole thing. It's pretty much a high level overview of those areas.I mean, if you want to be technical, the "Sword Coast" proper is only between Waterdeep and Baldur's Gate, neither Icewind Dale or Calimport are on the Sea of Swords.
However, if you look to the 50 page Gazateer of Faerûn in the Heroes book, it covers the entire northern 2/3 of the continent, including the Unapproachable East.
In the paragraph about Phandalin it talks about what's going on below the town, specifically the Shattered Obelisk and who's collecting it.The PC book has plot points in it? I mean, I guess it has to, to have history.
Fragments of Netherese civilization also dot this region, including pieces of psychic crystal. Mind flayers lairing in the Underdark beneath Phandalin collect these crystals and use them to mutate innocent victims in an elaborate scheme to create a new empire in Faerûn.
