D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

Covers of Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun.
We've known for some time that in November, WotC will be releasing not one but two Forgotten Realms books--one aimed at players, the other at Dungeon Masters. Thanks to Game Informer, we now have a look at the covers of Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun. The article showcases more art, and is well worth checking out--and for those who want more, the print magazine has a full feature previewing the books.

You don't have to play today's video games to know how they look, you just need to go to YouTube and watch clips of those who do play them. ;) The level of detail and animation in some of them is very lifelike.
I'm not a social media guy and really only "discovered" the world of youtube about 6 months ago. Video games are not one of the subjects I consume on that platform (or any other one really).

I really liked the 3.Xe mock book covers... I just thought they looked really cool, and I guess it promised "a tome of adventure" or something. Just aesthetic appeal. I like cool art inside, the outside looking like crazy weird real-books was appealing to me; OPEN THIS TOME AND REVEAL ANOTHER WORLD OF ADVENTURE. Donno.
Like I started with, everyone is different (and that is OK). The mock book covers just screamed fake/cheap/not serious to me. However, I came from the 1e era so maybe I was also biased by covers I came to game with.

The old will always be holy grails! And super
detailed. The new is for simplicity and lacks much depth . It's just alright without mystery. And covers are cartoon ish. Instead of in depth and in mystery....

Fzoul Chembryl['s] glorious hanging moustaches.
That's my bard's next hit single.

Somehow, I always forget that guy exists. And even then, I forget he's a cleric. For whatever reason, every Faerun bad guy is a wizard, most likely a lich, in my head.

Cadderly, Shadowheart come to mind.
Yup, those were the two I was able to call up after a little bit. Thank you. Now I half-want to reread The Cleric Quintet. I remember the Bouldershoulder brothers being entertaining. "Tree!"

I really like Fzoul; I tend to use him often. Somehow he survived his god dying, his second god going mad, and his first god coming back, all without losing his lofty station as high priest. There's some humour in his total willingness to turn coat, even against a god, and still walk away from it.

I also love his perpetual rivalry with Manshoon, who is indeed a wizard (though too handsome for lichdom last we heard). I like the idea that Fzoul betrayed Manshoon and executed this master coup, only to be saddled with clones appearing everywhere to get revenge due to a magical glitch. Lots of adventuring potential there.
