The Table of Contents for both Heroes of Faerun and Adventures in Faerun.

Picked the books up this morning and love what I’ve seen so far. I’ll answer whatever questions I can here.

What were the "Realms shaking" events?

From 1e to 2e: Time of Troubles (overhaul of deities, mainly to remove Satanic Panic features?)
From 2e to 3e: ? (shift cosmology from Wheel to Tree, and changes for new game engine?)
From 3e to 4e: Sundering/Spellplague (conform to new cosmology, species, and game engine powers)
From 4e to 5e: Second Sundering (undo unpopular aspects of Sundering, and explain new game engine)
From 5e 2014 to 5e 2024: ? (explain tweaks to species options?)
No events for 3E ir 2024, just a timeline advanced and changes made.

I consider 2e to 3e and '14 to '25 to be both Vecna's attempts to rewrite History (Die Vecna Die! and Eve of Ruin). Both attempts affected the whole multiverse, but since they happened outside the material plane and they failed the people on the Realms don't remember anything happening.

I mean, one of the companion books to this involves time travel shenanigans...it fits.

It does seem that way at the moment. We've already been presented with the lore for 5e 2024's Dragonborn.

How are the other PHB species being depicted in Heroes of Faerun? curious
The change in lore for Dragonborn seems gratuitous, having nothing to do with mechanical updates for 2024.

Really, from 2014 to 2024 there arent any important species changes except things like Elves arent necessarily dexterous. All the lore should be the same. Nonevil Orc has always been in Forgotten Realms. Maybe Half Elf is rarer, but I dont think that would change any famous Half Elves that already existed.

It was just a change in what we knew of their history in the Forgotten Realms setting. For about a century, most people who have heard and/or seen a Dragonborn believed that they were brought to Toril during the Spellplague from Toril's long lost sister planet of Abeir. They picked themselves up after that disaster and founded the draconic nation of Tymanther where the nation of Unther use to be.

And now we're just learning that Toril had its' own Dragonborn and that they had been living on Toril since its' Dawn Age (-30,000 DR to -24,000 DR). I wonder if there is additional lore regarding them that might shed some light on what they had been doing since the Dawn Age.
