Well, there's Tyr and Loviatar, who are both real world gods as well. Oh, and Aslan apparently made an appearance in Ed's own game. (dragon issue 54)

Yup. Nobannion is also Aslan.

There was also a Polyhedron issue where Ed talked about Nobanion walking a "forrest between worlds full of magical pools of water that led to different worlds".:D

Speaking of the cartoon, anyone else read the final script or heard the radio show from the DVD boxed set?

The dilemma at the end is whether to return or not!

But, as I said above, they're not in the RealmS, just "the Realm" (singular)

One in which they pummel Lloth and somehow survive Tiamat regularly. Yeah, not Toril.

I don't have a cite or an example, nor can I vouch for whether or not it's canon, but I do vividly remember an old westerner/trapper type character from the old AD&D 2nd edition cards. It had the Forgotten Realms banner on the card.

Most of the possible answers to this question have already been given.

Wingsandsword was right about the Mulhorandi/Egyptian peoples (and their gods). The same thing is also true for Untheric/Sumerian (and Babylonian, the distinctions are blurry) peoples. Basically, the Imaskari kidnapped two large groups of people from two different time periods on Earth.

FickleGM, that particular card sounds very interesting!

According to at least one of his "Mages Three" columns, Ed Greenwood has been to the Realms for at least one (very short) period of time.

It's certainly possible that some of the other deities that have the same name as "real world" deities are meant to be the same entities.

Yep, he hides in a suit of armor in Elminster's tower (at Elminster's invitation) to listen in while Dalamar and Mordenkainen visit to trade tales and swap spells.

Actually, I think that was Ed's study where he hid and the wizards met - and not to bag on Ed, but the mental picture of him crammed into a suit of armor (with beard-wisps poking out of the faceplate) is awesome. :D

That's right, but I recall one where Elminster had Ed scrying through his (Elminster's) belt buckle so that he could provide the word that would teleport away a female mage the wizards were fighting. I thought Ed was actually in the Realms for that one...but I may be wrong.
