No, I appreciate everybody's contributions. Particularly It's'es.
No problem Snoweel

Here are some names from Thay and Thesk
Thay: Szass Tamm, Thessaloni Canos, Mur Vhol, Invarri Metron, Dmitra Flass, Azhir Kren, Hezass Nymar, Brazhal Kos, Aznur Thrul, Nymia Focar, Homen Odesseiron, Timbra Wenz, Purtrek Friina, Yesvel Rethume, Samas Kul, Shabella the Pale, Alyssa, Kwinset Tanzirk.

Thesk: Auvur Mindosel, Cimbal Cindermoot, Dendar Halfaxe, Tei-lei Shai-Fang, Kang Yu, Feneita Glantari, Zaras Nightblade, Darrow Silverhand, Tipret Prenskylvar, Forsten Clast, Chou Pei Gong, Li Poa, Wendren Balindre.

As you can see mostly it's just a random set of vowels and consonants :) with the exception of names that are derived from their character class or race (for instance Darrow Silverhand is a dwarven cleric of Waukeen) and a couple in Thesk that look like Chinese names.

Just like in the rest of the Realms it seems.

If there were a method to Realms names (and from the previous posts it appears there isn't), I'd expect there to be significant overlap between Thayan names and Rashemi names, since the Thayans are of Rashemi descent.

There might also be an overlap between Mulhorandi names (which are ancient Egyptian sounding because Mulhorand was pretty much settled by people from ancient Egypt) and Thayan names, since Molhorand ruled Thay for quite some time. Then again it wouldn't surprise me if upon gaining their independence the Thayans outlawed all Mulhorandi names.

If it was a random sets of vowels and consonants, anyone could create authentic Realms names. In fact it's a very specific range of aesthetics, one that many published authors don't have the hang of.

Aglarondan names are similar to Faerûnian norms, i.e. the culture that's now called 'Chondathan'. Refer to EBoN.

Hong, your funny stuff only works if it's slightly accurate. Realms names have no particular incidence of ys and, a few eccentric nonhuman names aside, eschew fantasy apostrophes.

Not every Thayan is of Rashemi stock. The elite (including the Red Wizards) are of Mulan heritage (IIRC they fled from Mulhorand and then founded thay)

Yep. 65% Rashemi, 30% Mulan.

Not to mention, Mulan or not, they mostly speak Mulhorandi in Thay - which ought to at least influence the names.
