If the compendium had the rules in it instead of just stats I'd use that. (For example, I momentarily forgot what the "Grabbed" condition meant, and looked it up in the compendium... and got monsters + their "grabbed" abilities but no Grabbed condition) then my rules lawyer player looked it up. In the end the compendium remains unused... I have the PDFs:angel:

They added the glossary in the last few months. It does exactly what you want.

I subscribe to the DDI so that I don't have to buy books. I'll renew for another year while its $5 a month, but I honestly wouldn't object to paying $6. I don't think that a dollar a month price hike from the presently cheap $5 a month cost is worth worrying about, particularly when the money I spend on the DDI subscription directly trades off with money I would have spent on books.

On top of that, I don't own a real credit card. I was afraid to own one for most of my life and therefore have no credit rating, which means I've applied for and was denied every credit card out there (except for the security deposit credit cards, but those things scare me too... "So you're telling me I have to give you $300 for $300 credit? and if I use my card it costs some money, then you put interest on what I spend on the card, and if I don't pay back what I payed to use in the first place, you charge more... and then I can't make a cash withdraw from the credit card that I payed cash for permission to use? OOH SIGHN ME UP!"

Don't be afraid of getting a credit card. Be afraid of becoming addicted to using it! :)

The security deposit cards are a good way to build credit, and (unless you get a crappy deal) if you pay your bill in full each month (on time) you shouldn't have to pay interest. Plus, when you cancel the card, you'll get your deposit back.

You might also check with your bank on the possibility of getting a debit card. Pulls directly from your checking account, is not credit, but works just as well as a credit card for online (and offline) purchases.

It's hard to get by without plastic these days. Personally, I think a D&DI subscription is worth taking the plunge into the crazy world of credit cards!

As someone with an annual subscription already, the price increase, when broken out over 12 months, just isn't a big enough deal for me to think twice about resubscribing. I'll be extending my subscription before the July 1st deadline.

My thoughts exactly. I'm just waiting for WotC to adjust the text on the ordering page so I'm sure I'm doing the right thing (having borked up my account before, I'd really rather not do the same again).

Like others have said, the price increase was expected and IMO is reasonable. As far as the Poll goes, I already have an annual sub, as of about a month ago, and probably will add another year before the deadline, but haven't as of yet. So that = no change atm.

I have to agree, a dollar a month increase isn't a big deal for the amount of material we are getting.

The 45 day notice WotC gave us to lock in at the old price is appreciated too.
