Not greatest, but definitely Really Great. Its certainly the most obvious defender daily, and the easiest to make work for you but there are times when you just want something else. My Warden made amazing use of the healing powers within Stone Guardian, so i can't say greatest.

WoTC went overboard with some LVL1 / LVL 2 stuff.
It especially sux when you're expected to take a LVL 1 power, and keep it for rest of game.
Why not just make it a class feature then?
They helped Flaming Sphere, but theres still a lot of silly powers like FoWH out there...

For example? Rather a large claim to make with no backup.
A class feature is quite different form a power. Should we have class features that are not powerss and are limited to once an encounter.day etc? 4E clearly does not want that. Think of class features as properties, instead.
It is not that bad, honestly, unless you interpret it in a ridiculous way.
