"Forsaken" Dwarves? [SL]

Snoweel

First Post
What with the plethora of great SL Story Hours: tehRuinedOne, Lars, Tuerny, others that I'm sure are great but haven't read, I'm getting close to hocking my wedding ring in order to buy everything Scarred Lands at once. Cause I'm an all-or-nothing kinda guy.

Or something.

So, even though I found the US$10 Ghelspad Gazetteer disappointing, I've since heard that everything else SL is fantastic. Hours spent avoiding the gaze of the gaming-store attendants as I read through SL products has strengthened this view.

Which leads me to my question. The Dwarf, Forsaken entry in the CC says that their Clerics have access to the Chaos (even though they're usually LE), Earth and something else domains. And that's all. Nothing about their deity or limitations.

Forsaken Elves, according to the CC, have access to a bunch of Elfy (the adjective for Elf?) domains, but are restricted to cleric spells of levels 1 & 2 only, on account of their god's demise and their lack of faith in the living gods.

So, SL fanatics, tell me: Who do Forsaken Dwarves worship/receive their spells from? Who has forsaken them? Is their story as interesting as that of the Forsaken Elves?

I need ANSWERS, dammit!

Sorry Snowy, I've been fighting Efreeti flames.

According to the SLCS, they are "forsaken" because they lost faith in their leader who apparently had contact with Denev...but lost it as the end of the Divine War.

As for WHO they are getting their spells from...no idea. Could be Vangal (doubtful) but not

As for their story...well it's interesting but I think I prefer the forsaken elves to the forsaken dwarves. Charduni are MUCH more fun. :)

Think you could use the word Fey here.

Yes, seems to be rather powerful ones at that.

By the way Snoweel, Nightfall is our resident SL expert. Usually the board gremlins tell him immediently when someone mentions it.

Thanks, Nightfall.

See, I find most "Tolkienesque" campaign settings not to my liking since after 15 years of D&D, I'm pretty sick of the standard PC races. And which is why I dig OA.

But SL seems to put something of a new spin on the tired old Dwarves, Elves and Halflings (and Gnomes - /me tries not to grind his teeth).

Charduni - they're in tehRuinedOne's Story Hour. Dwarves of Chardun, right?

As for Forsaken Dwarves, Anyone else know anything about them? Their faith/source of clerical magic? I'm guessing it might be in The Divine and teh Defeated.

Fairly but once I invoked Vangal and Corean's aid, plus some well places "Up yours" spell castings, I managed to fix their little red wagon. ;)

Actually it's my Arcane Devourers but they don't work the same way as they do in the Scarred Lands. ;) Snowy knows that I am the expert, as he's heard me rant a good bit. ;)

I feel your pain, especially with Gnomes! :) But at least now if someone wants a gnome I tell them "Go to Termana!" instead of go to hell. ;)

Yep. They are devotees to their god, even though no one is quite sure if they were created or warped by Chardun. Their racial make up though is all about caste, rank and following the whims of both Chardun and by the default, the One in White.

That's all I really know for certain Snowy. I've checked Div&Def. No dice. I would say, check out CC1 Revised, as that might help...but no idea what they'll change in that appendix on the races. There's no mention in the DM's companion...but I'd say if they have a god...it's one not very well know or heard of.

Sorry, he was unaware of the Hivemind, so thought he might not know of our resident SL expert.

I've been away for a while, but not that long.

This Forsaken Dwarves thing is really getting under my skin. I would hope that if S&SS plan to introduce new deities, they've left enough room in their history/mythology.

Nightfall, there're 9 Gods, right? How many Demi-Gods and is the list exhaustive?
