"Forsaken" Dwarves? [SL]

I've been away for a while, but not that long.

This Forsaken Dwarves thing is really getting under my skin. I would hope that if S&SS plan to introduce new deities, they've left enough room in their history/mythology.

Nightfall, there're 9 Gods, right? How many Demi-Gods and is the list exhaustive?

8 major ones, not counting Denev.

There are 10 that are known and a couple that are remember. And no, that list is by no means exhastive, but those are the ones people know. There are 10, (3 racial and 7 that qualify for other, including Drendari, Erias and Idra) The god of the forsaken Elves, Miridum, goddess of wizardry, plus Hadareus and a few others, are all dead (or various states there of), but a dead god can rise...if enough of it survives. But perhaps that's just a mistake in CC1 that will be corrected in the Revised version. No clear idea on that though Snowy. I do know though they'll fix a lot of it so that titanspawn only have druids (or sorcerers) and not clerics and vice versa.

And what's the run-down an racial Gods? Dwarf, Elf, Gnome? <shudder>

Who supposedly made the races? And which "Evil" races are titan-spawn? Orcs? Hobgoblins? Do these guys even exist?

Please tell me there's a "God of the Humans".

Please.

Well no, but you have your choice with the 8. :) In sense they ALL made humanity.

Dwarf: Goran is the god of mountain dwarves. Charduni, follow Chardun. No idea with Forsaken Dwarves, but some, (rumored) to follow Vangal.

Elf: Wood elves follow Denev, but also Madriel and Tanil are held in high regard. Some wood elves have also emigrated to Uria where they follow Corean. No racial god. Forsaken Elf: Their god is dead...but that might change. Dark Elf: Nalthlos, though that might change if he can't get back home.

Halflings: Hywrrd, but some are following the human gods.

Gnomes: They have no gods! Just nature spirits.

Snow, you'll get a great run down in CC Revised but to help you out, that Titans made ALL the races. But the "divine races" are also the mystery races, so no one is QUITE sure who made who.

Hobgoblins, gnolls, orcs, all do exist, but again, CC Revised WILL have an appendix detailing WHICH monster follows which titan, (or god if any) giving you an idea where they fit in the Scarred Lands.

Example:

Beholders:

Creations of Mesos, they were used as guardians to his shrines as well as sites of great magical power. After the divine war, there were only a few left, but most have stayed on, following the will of their Sire, and acting as guardians in many old ruins.

That's just and example of what you'll find in CC Revised for the monsters.

Nightfall, you are slacking ;)

Alot of this information can be found in the Scarred Lands Gazateer and the Divine and the Defeated.

This is what I have been able to gather:

According to the Krakadom entry in the Ghelspad Gazateer the Forsaken Dwarves have no religion at all. No priest, no druids, nothing. They have sworn off the gods and follow only themselves.

So apparently the rushed to press Creature Collection material is in error.

As for the traditional humanoids, the orcs and ogres typically follow their creator Gaurak, the Glutton.

Goblins and their kin were created by Thulkas, father of fire and it is said that wherever he went goblins were spontaneously generated from the cracks that marred his surface.

Giants are the creations of Kadum, though most of them have largely abandoned him since the divine war.

Trolls are creations of Golthagga the Shaper.

Noone is quite sure who created the "divine" races, but there are various rumors bandied about on the different ones.
The strongest rumors support Denev or Mesos for the elves, Hrinruuk for humans, Golthagga or Thulkas for dwarves, and Denev halflings.

Any other questions?

Oh, and I should have the last section of my story hour from the second session up tonight :D

Yeah well I figured I give Snowy the short version. ;)

Right well I believe the SLCS, but you never know. I prefer to have a wait and see attitude until I have more info.

Btw, I was just offering the other bit since the CC Revised will probably make mention of this as well, especially the bits on orcs, giants, ogres, goblins, and others.

I must say I'm disappointed Tuerny.

That 10 minutes spent answering my questions could've been spent posting your Story Hour.

But thanks! The stuff on which Titans allegedly created which races, I read this morning while hiding between the boxed wargames and the stuff by Steve Jackson.

But the Forsaken Dwarves stuff was very helpful.

Here's a question: Have they errata'd the Hit Dice of the Unfailing prestige class? I figured d1. mightn't have been a typo, considering all the damage reduction bonuses they have.

If you check my Story Hour you will see that it has been updated! :)

As far as I know they have not errata'd it. Of course I do not even have Hollowfaust so that my tinge my info gathering capabilities in that regards.

However considering its martial nature d10 would probably be appropriate.

No but it's d12. I know this because in the section on the captain of the Stygian Guard, he has levels in Unfailing and uses 12s.
