Fortitude Saves for Multi-Class

The problem with good saves in particular is that they don't merely scale at x/level, it's .5/level +2. So every time you multiclass, you're adding an extra +2 modifier to like good saves that doesn't have anything to do with scaling by level. BAB and poor saves scale simply by x/level, so they don't have the same problem.

For those who are saying not to sweat it because PF multiclassing is weak, I'd rather not balance the underpowered wonkiness in how multiclassing works with overpowered wonkiness in how saves scale. That's like drinking coffee to beat drunkenness. Less intoxication and less general wonkiness, please.

Fair enough. I don't think it's a bad idea, I just didn't like the added bookkeeping. I had two or three players who just couldn't get it through their heads, so I went back to RAW calculations more out of annoyance than anything else.

It's a pain being the only one in a group bothered by this type of thing.

Compromise proposal: since they changed how class skills work in PF, why not change how the "class saves" work also? In other words, if your class has a good save, it's 1/2, if it's a bad save, it's 1/3 as usual. But each class also has "class saves" that it grants a +2 bonus to, the key thing being that you only count the bonus once. Just like class skills.
