Forum Software Too Old?

[MENTION=1]Morrus[/MENTION] - Is the forum software too old to guard against current spambots? It seems like there's been an increasing amount of spam lately so maybe it's time to upgrade the forum software? Can the community help in this regard?

It isn't a matter of age, so much as having allowed the permission scheme to get a little tangled over time. He should have it worked out soon.

It's nothing to do with the software age; it's because we have so many usergroups and so many forums, and each combination has to be set separately. So if I miss something, a spammer slips though.

For example, I recently discovered that "users awaiting email confirmation" could post in one particular forum. They can't now.

Okie doke. Just checking to see if there was something we could all do together but I guess it's just a chore you'll have to slog through bit by bit.
