Found in a Used Source Book...

Scribble

First Post
So a while back like around 96, while at Origins, I remember purchasing a few of the Handbooks (I think thats what they were called... sad I can't remember...) at the auction...

Well low and behold inside one of them the previous owner had (I guess unintentionally) left a character...

Khord, The Captain Cruel. [sic]

My friends and I thought this was funny, both the name and the fact that it was there...

So one of my friends used him in an adventure later that day...

Anyone else ever find something unintentinally left in a used sorce book?

And did Khord belong to any of you guys? :p

Wow, that's almost as stupid a name as Khorne, the Warhammer "God of Chaos". Real intimidating name, there.

No, no I haven't found anything in an old sourcebook.

Ya, I've found some interesting things in used RPG books. I got a few Star Wars d6 books off of e-bay and before the books got to me I got an e-mail asking if there where some notes in one of them. It seems the guy accidently left some critical notes for his Star Wars game in the book I bought off of him. Once the books got to me I happily found his notes and mailed them back to him.

In a used box set I bought in the early 90's I found a 4ft by 2ft piece of graph paper that had a castle floor mapped out with extreme detail. But it was only the one floor and so not all that useful.

I purchased a Mint copy of Unearthed Arcana (1e) about 4 years ago.... had a receipt in it.

Just over 300 dollars in condoms....

What would a gamer ever possibly need those for?

I once bought a used RPG book from a store that used to sell them (miss that store) and found a friends name written in it (as the previous owner). We could of just cut out the middle man.

Somewhere out there is a Star Frontiers set with every character I ever created for that game, from when I was about 12 years old.

But I've never found anything interesting in a used book or set.
