Four elementally-themed villains with a twist!

I've made up four elementally-themed villains for Mutants & Masterminds, second edition. I didn't go the obvious route of just making them all energy controllers. Instead, the element in many cases is just window dressing.

The Silver Bullet is a technological villain with a battlesuit giving him control over air. He's probably the most "traditional" of the lot.

Ramses is magical in nature and can turn his body into sand. When it's called for, he can unleash his power in a powerful sandstorm.

Stilleta is basically just a fencer, who happens to make her own weapon and armor out of ice.

Finally, Solfatara is specialized for fighting a single enemy, using an array of powers modelled after volcanic gases and such to debuff them.

The Silver Bullet is particularly tough, but otherwise just your run-of-the-mill thug... until he stole an experimental army battlesuit. A large backpack, pointed, bulletlike helmet, and gauntlets resembling jet engines give him flight and the ability to create massive gusts of wind! The Silver Bullet makes quite the entrance as he plows through concrete walls like they were made of paper.

In combat, if he has sufficient room The Silver Bullet likes to perform a Rush attack from great distances, slamming into his foes. If that's not an option, he'll make an overrun to knock one of them down and position himself better. Either way, he typically tries to suck all the air away from his opponents afterwards, suffocating them!

This villain started off inspired by the X-man (err, woman) named Dust, but I ended up making him more like the old spider-man villain Sandman. I think the idea that he can unleash himself as a sandstorm in extreme circumstances is pretty cool.

The villain known as Ramses was once an archaeologist and student of Egyptian lore. It was on a dig in Giza that he discovered a truly remarkable find-- a gorgeous, pristine ruby the size of your fist shaped like a scarab. As he brushed away the sand and went to pick it up, it came to life and attacked him, burrowing into his chest. Unknown to the poor archaeologist, the scarab was a trap. Now, his consciousness has been merged with that of an ancient pharaoh and he has the ability to turn himself into sand!

In combat, he prefers to keep his distance unless he can get someone into a grapple. When he does so, he attempts to suffocate them. He has the ability to unleash himself into a powerful sandstorm, blinding all around and stripping away at their flesh, but it is extremely tiring for him to do so and so he only does it under the most dire of circumstances.

Stiletta's parents, outrageously rich, died in a tragic accident when she was but a baby. Growing up a trust fund baby, she never wanted for anything. Anything except, of course, excitement. Extreme sports of all varieties placated her throughout her teens, but she quickly grew bored of them. Then one day she finally found something that she could be truly passionate about: fencing. Stiletta quickly exhausted every local trainer, and not long thereafter every trainer in the country. She travelled around the world, studying at the feet of French master fencers and even going to Japan to learn of Japanese styles.

It wasn't long, however, before she exhausted every possible resource and was easily one of the most skilled people in the world when it came to swordplay. But swordplay was one thing... she needed an actual fight. It was then she had a wonderful idea. She hired the most brilliant bioengineers she could find, and had them experiment on her, giving her control over ice. With her new powers, she decided to take on the most dangerous prey of them all... superheroes.

Stiletta is a fast, agile combatant, constantly on the move. She prefers a highly mobile, if light-hitting, offense, a "death by a thousand cuts" as it were. She is a highly technical fighter, using a great deal of maneuvers and her surroundings to her advantage.

While Stiletta does not gain any pleasure from killing indiscriminately, she holds no compunctions about taking innocent life and will not hesitate to do so if she thinks it will lure more wily opponents.

Solfatara was a just a little boy in Ethiopia when he was forced out of his home by marauding warlords. For a time he found himself living in a cave at the foot of the Fantale volcano. There, he breathed in volcanic gases which triggered a latent mutant power and drove him insane. Now he believes himself a god and seeks to destroy the world and remake it in his own image.

In combat, Solfatara prefers to concentrate on a single enemy. In addition to his array of weakening abilities, all of his attacks suffocate, so he'll concentrate on bringing one enemy down to submission. When the situation demands it, he can unleash a devastating ember blast. Volcanic ash and white-hot embers pound at the target foe, easily tearing skin from flesh, flesh from bone, and burning bone down to ash. This attack is, however, very taxing and so he usually saves it as a finisher.
