[FR] Bane's Realm: Barrens of Doom & Despair. Any info?

I'm looking for details on the "Barrens of Doom and Despair," briefly mentioned in Faiths & Pantheons as the home plane of many of the most evil of the Forgotten Realms deities, including Bane, Loviatar, Malar, Talona, etc.

I'm wondering what it would be like for a Banite cleric PC who wants to attempt to planeshift there in an upcoming adventure (today's game, in fact). Could he gain an audience with his god as one of his favored servants?

Where is this plane (or layer) located? What is it like? How dangerous would it be to take a trip there?

Official 1e and 2e Realms lore held that Bane's realm was in Acheron, along with those of Set, Maglubiyet, Gruumsh and various other LE gods.

There have been changes in 3e: FR now has a totally different cosmology to the great wheel.

According to the Manuel of the Planes FAQ, the Barrens of Doom and Despair are like Archeron, but with no river styx, in their appearence. Thet'e mildly law and evil aligned (in terms of the MotP).

And thats all they wrote...
