FR help [My players stay out!

DungeonMaester

First Post
I need help running a Forgotten realms campiagn setting since:

A) I don't have the setting book, nor Have I read through it and
B) my knowledge of FR is derived from Ed greenwood, Salvatore, and Athens who all write FR novels.

Please cram my head full as much information about FR as possible. (The campaign starts tomorrow!)

I'll type that up some time when it is not 3 am.

What I need more information about FR:

-Races
-Maps
-Cults
-deities
-important location

One thing I will give away is that it is during the time of the Spell Plague.

FR is an enormous place so, if you really want help, just narrow it down. I would be happy to type you out a whole campaign outline if I have some idea of what you're trying to achieve and where.

This is the link for a FR wiki which should have a general overview of pretty much everything on your list: http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

If you narrow down your goals to the point where you can answer my three questions, I would happy to further assist.

I suspect you're screwed!

That linked wiki is your best bet.

Yeah, I tend to agree. This is akin to saying, "I'm running a Middle-Earth campaign tomorrow, and the sum total of my knowledge of Middle-Earth is watching the Rankin-Bass cartoon version of 'The Hobbit', and reading an interview with Peter Jackson."

There's just *so* much material out there, and you really ought to start by narrowing the scope you're talking about (pick a region, pick a plotline, etc., just so that you're not trying to "do it all").
