FR survivalism

Does Elminster sound like a pirate to anyone else? Whenever I read anything he says with all the unnecessary "ye"ing I just mentally add "ar" and "matey".

So, if the conjecture is accurate, Faerunians are going to be in a world of hurt for at least the next decade.

As DM, do you have a plan to get your adventurers through the Spellplague and its aftermath?
No, since this won't be happening in my FR.

I'm not yet sure if I want to play it through, or offer the PCs a chance to enter stasis for ten years and emerge into a changed world.

No problem! I have reject the pastiche called 4e and will contiue to use 3.x rules. Hell I'll go back to the 74 rules before I would even look at a 4e rule. Besides messing up the Realms to try and get you to buy new FR supplements. Look at the 4e rules you get a little bit of silos a real mtg thing ...pick two colors please! Then there's an orc kingdom, how ebberon and or course theres the starwars combat and skills section. And simplified/dumbed down rules to try and attract those that think D&D is to hard.

Hey you don't need to buy 4e just pick up starwars and call chewie a brute and luke a striker and your all set to play starwars and dragons. No thanks wotc keep your garbage and I'll keep my money! PS I'll still have fun with D&D and my group is relieved I don't want to move to s&d.

Um, why are you posting on a 4ed forum then?

Do we know the campaign is going to be fast forwared 100 years?

I thought I had heard 10 years somewhere.

I'm not sure yet how to handle it in my campaign, we're still in 1372 and we're currently on hiatus for abouta year before we even get back to it.

I'll probably start a new 4E game in FR though.

Gwathlas, your completely unrelated threadcrap wasn't necessary here. Don't post further in this thread and think twice before you threadcrap like this again.

.

Even though I really like the "point of lights" theme, it runs contrary to all the history, style and flavor of the FR, and how I run my campaign. So no, I won't be taking any of my players through the New Realms.

If I were running FR---and I'm not, nor am I likely too---and I were concerned about integrating the "official" setting changes into my game, I'd probably ignore them until the current campaign played out, and then started up a new campaign with 4e and 4e FR.

I don't like the idea of converting games in media res. Play out what you're doing, and if you like the new stuff better when you're done, then start a new game with the new stuff is my preferred MO.

Oh, and Gwathlas must be stopped!
