[FR] Where do the Avariel live?

EntropyDecay

First Post
Since my group takes a short pause in our regular campaign, one of my players is going to run a Forgotten Realms one shot adventure and even lets me play an Avariel (the winged elves; I wanted to play one of those since Baldurs Gate II :) ).

Strange thing is that I cannot find the place where they live. I looked trough the whole Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, but the only place where they are even mentioned is in the Gods section where one elven god portfolio contains the Avariel.

I know that Races of Faerun contains a lot of stuff about the Avariel but I don't want to buy the whole book just for a short information that should belong into the FRCS. And for the stats: I just took an elven fighter and gave him the Winged template from Savage Species. Should come close enough to the "real" stats.

There is only a single known place were avariels live. It's the Aerie of the Snow Eagles, a crystal citadel hidden in one of the peaks of the Icerim Mountains in Sossal.

The avariel have much different stats than the regular elves. for one, they have an ECL. Their favored class is cleric, i believe, and they have minuses to str and con. i think dex, int, and maybe wisdom go up.

The main things the Winged template gives are +2 ECL, a fly speed, +2 wis, + 4 dex. Adding that to a regular elven fighter seems to approximate an Avariel really well.
