Hi,

I voted for the Cold Lands -- I've been running a campaign based there for ten years. The area was detailed in FR9 and hasn't been touched since. Seems to me Cormyr, the Dalelands and the North have been covered several times, while Thay is about to be covered for the third time in the Unapproachable East. Amn, Tethyr and Calimshan have also been covered twice.

My second choice is for a Beyond Faerun book, or books, as it would be hard to fit Zakhara, Kara-Tur and Maztica all in one book and do them justice.

To whoever asked -- I've placed Rokugan to the west of the Flanaess in my Greyhawk campaign.

Cheers

Richard

Voted "Beyond Faerûn", but I'd like this Beyond to include the planes.

Good luck with that. If they're reluctant to go beyond the political boundaries of Faerun, there's no way they'll go beyond the entire world to the planes. That's rather ironic considering that they made FR have a different cosmology, so MotP isn't much help, leaving FR players who want to go to the planes in quite a quandary.

Hard, but not impossible. I could see a D20 Modern sized hardback, with each region getting about 120 pages each. The original Al-Qadim book was around 150 pages, but had a rather large font and HUGE margins. I'm not a big FR fan, but I'd happily buy a Zakhara/Kara-Tur/Maztica book.

The Western Heartlands have traditionally gotten decent coverage in the setting basics (grey box, 2e box, FR Adventures for the cities, and the FRCS), but they have never gotten supplement-grade coverage (a la The North box set, or the Silver Marches). I'd much rather see a supplement on the Western Heartlands than one for Cormyr or the Dalelands, which *have* gotten supplement-grade coverage before.
Well, I'm not sure what else there would be to write about the Western Heartlands that the sources you listed above covered already... the information in those sources are easily as comprehensive as The North box set - thus, "supplement-grade coverage" has already been given to the Western Heartlands.

However, if stuck with a choice between the Dales, Cormyr, and the Western Heartlands for supplement-grade coverage, then I wholeheartedly agree with you - I would choose the Western Heartlands before Cormyr and the Dales, which truly have been done to death (though my final choice would be "none of the above").
