Free PDF's for the Gencon Deprived

I'm living in a back-woods part of Kentucky, my bank account's overdrawn, I've got no job, no car and no way of getting to the con, even if I could afford it.

And I would dearly love to go. :(

My tale of woe: Spent all my girlfriend points on a trip to Vegas. Okay, not really a tale of woe, but I still would have liked to go.

Well I don't have any reasons that are nearly as interesting as the ones here, just the regular lack of funds/ability to travel. Fortunately (I guess) for me I've never been so I don't know what I'm missing. :p

For me it's not a tail of woe, but a tale of WAAAAHHHH!! We just had our second child in June, so funds are low...gotta hate that insurance deductible.

Oh, and thanks dude. This is way nice of you!!

Are you being left behind while the rest of the board goes to Gencon? Are you tired of hearing folks talk about the great swag they claimed at the dealers hall in the aftermath of the show? Do you have a tiny pang of jealousy every time someone mentions that they're off?

If so, post here and let us know why you're not at Gencon this year and I'll give you a free PDF of your choice from Clockwork Golem's backcatalogue. It may not be the same as bags full of swag, but maybe it can help take the sting out of your Gencon-less weekend :)

Claiming your free PDF is a three-step process:

1) Post your tale of woe on the thread, letting the world know why you can't make it to the biggest gaming event in the world this year.

2) Head over to the Clockwork Golem Workshop page at RPGnow and pick one of the PDF's discounted as part of our Can't Go to Gencon sale (for the record, that's any PDF we've published except our two most recent releases, Rise of the Ghouls and Born of the Sahdows)

3) E-mail me at Peter@clockworkgolem.com with your choice, and I'll send you a download link.

This offer ends with the close of the convention and the return of the rampaging hordes.

Well I didn't make Gen Con this year because A: I had work related things and B: I had no extra money. The sucky thing is I usually console myself with some review writing for PDF publishers but Crothian has been at the con ( Iwas part of the reviewer call) and my mail box has been empty

On the bright side though my gaming (a very mutated Angel game) has been great.

BTW this is a cool thing to do.

If you include your screen name when you e-mail your free PDF request, I can probably help out on fillling your inbox with a review copy or two to tide you over the weekend :)

What a generous offer!

I don't really have a tale of woe, nor do I need a free pdf. Just poking in to say thanks to you and Phil for giving out swag to all the travel-deprived gamers. ;)

Mine is less a tale of woe and more one of altruistic sacrifice. Rather than using my limited vacation time left after my wedding this summer on myself (and Gen Con), I cashed in the bank to head to Wizard World Chicago to work the table for the second year in a row with my friend over TorC Press. Since we've only recently updated the site to allow online purchases, conventions are still his major selling arena. Unfortunately, he's not as outgoing and loud as some of the crew we bring along. :]

The usual, family and lack of money means no Gencon for us this year. :( Give me a few years to get my degree and then we can try for Socal with the kids.

BTW Arwink, are you folks going to put out a lost books compilation?
