Freeport Trilogy... with Asaatthi!

That's because they are Yuan-Ti surrogates. I can see the problem.

Asaatthi, while they are nastier than serpent people, are not quite so nasty.

?

I must be remembering all the epic stuff about them with their war of the elves and all their samurai feel incorrectly then. I always got the impression that they could be ultra-badass up to epic levels easily.

I'm not sure what the relevance of this is. Sure, they can be epic level. But as a base, they are CR4.

I ended up increasing the power level as well...

Just be sure to account for the increase in the PCs magical potential...

The only reason I bring that up is because I didn't - it was a learning experience for me!

The [sblock]Lighthouse Assault[/sblock] segment of the 3rd module (Death in Freeport?) turned into a lot of winging it.

With all the little extras and bonuses in their book it's pretty easy to customize them to higher levels.

Are you looking for higher powered snakies or just general advice on running the adventure with some small changes?

I think he's concerned since the snake people in Freeport were around CR 2 I believe. Assatthi clearly aren't. Thus the need to "customize" the module for higher levels.

I was just looking to tune it to run with 3rd/4th level characters at the moment. Swapping in Asaatthi for serpent people achieved that as well as the general goal of not glutting the campaign with serpent-folk races when I have one I like more. But other than that, just looking for ways to scale up the adventure. (Talien's doc was sort of the type of thing I was hoping for.)

Sorry I can be more helpful Psion other than to offer you ways to incorporate Assatthi mythos and lifestyle into Freeport.

Everythings better with Asaathi. :)

If you're keeping the power level low, maybe the Lihueltess stats would work a bit better? I'd imagine the Raasek would be a bit too low.

Away,

It gets better with Ratmen but that's just me. ;) I think the reason Psion is going with Inflitrators is the need to blend in with the populace of Freeport more easily.
