Away,

It gets better with Ratmen but that's just me. ;) I think the reason Psion is going with Inflitrators is the need to blend in with the populace of Freeport more easily.

Sorta.

The Freeport serpentfolk have the ability to shapeshift, so the infiltrator makes a better fit for the serpentfolk in the role they play in Freeport.

Bah, puny mammals.

I guess theres nothing technically wrong with them but I've never found rat-people very interesting. I mean, snakes sure, but rats? When one sets out to make a threatening anthropomorphic animal, why start with something thats largely innocuous? If I'm going to be facing a foe I don't want to to be able to easily kill them with poisoned cheese. :D

I should admit, I've never played this "free-port" thingamajig you speak of. The Asaath is what got my attention. I think they're super neat but I've had little opportunity to play as or against them.

Well, I think Ratmen are cool. But snake-folk are part of the Freeport trilogy. So it fits.

Not to mention I used the snot out of Ratmen in my last campaign world, so I think it's high time for the Asaatthi to make an appearance.

The ratmen from Scarred Lands are very cool, and don't EVEN COME CLOSE to feeling like anthropomorphic fuzzies. :)

The Slitherin are like a nasty scourge.

Scourge is an understatement. If you though goblin warrens were bad, I've dug using Ratmen warrens to make players shiver.

*okay not really but I kept planning on it! The PCs were just too chicken to go down and look since they ended up finding like horse skeletons for starters. And not just any horses but Destriters!* ;)

Psion,

Right well I was close. ;)
