Friends of SHARK

Just yesterday (or the day before) I was wondering if you had been pulled so deeply into school that you'd given up enworld altogether. Welcome back, SHARK! Condolences on your hard drive; long live the hard-drive!

My e-mail in my profile below. I don't believe we had any open conversations going since your e-mail died, though, unless it died quite a while ago.

The SHARK returns!

Hurrah. I'm so stoked to see what kind of crazy stuff you've cooked up in your absence.

Welcome back! :D

Now, well, indeed I have been gone for some time now, haven't I? I've missed you all. In November, between finals and Thanksgiving, I had zero time to be here. Then, in December, I was finishing up several projects, working like a bee, and the first day or so of January, the computer fried on me! I cannot express how angry and sad I was, it was so devastating, I couldn't even cry. I didn't even really swear that much. I was stunned, and shocked, really. That which was lost, for projects, for school, for campaign notes, for political articles, research, and just on and on--there was just so much--all gone, just like that. *SNAP* If someone was to offer me $5,000 in place of it, I would not accept it, for what was lost, I can't really put a dollar value on it. What was lost on so many levels represents countless hours of work, play, and research on my part, for oh, the past two years. That's two years of game work, two years of general research that I do in history and politics for my thesis and books, that's four semesters of saved school work, additional research, and more as well from imported documents from my older hard drive. The loss is just so staggering, I was numb for days.

It's been some time now, but a few years back I recall reading about a company or two who were able to recover information from damaged hard drives, so if the information you had on there was that important to you it's something to look into.

It might take a while and I can't promise anything, but I'll look in some old mags and see if I can find what I'm thinking of.
