This was a pretty cool episode.

I was kinda hoping the Seamus book would refer so an existing goofy but historical book like Ignatius Donnelly or maybe Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius. Creating their own of course means no pre-existing constraints.

I was wondering when they'd bring up First People. Usually every "phenomenon" that gets mentioned in the opening credits gets discussed or used during the season.

Wildly Unfounded Speculation: The First People are the Observers.

More of that:
Walternate said they did find the pieces on their world and didn't know where they came from. So I figure the First People exist(ed) on both worlds. Or maybe there was originally only one world and they split it in two.

Mysterious numbers over ham radio? Tickled the Lost-fanboy in me. Also, Marshall Flinkman!

I remember when Lost was first starting and J.J. Abrams IIRC said something to the effect that Alias and Lost were "kind of" in the same universe. I think he meant it thematically rather than that they were literally set in the same universe, but I've always liked the idea. I'm a sucker for shared universes. And I'd like to add Fringe to that mythos. If Fringe is going the route of 'Precursors' they could be used to explain the mysteries of those other shows.

Who built The Island? The First People.
Where did Rambaldi get his artifacts? The First People.

Speaking of the observers, has anyone noticed them in the background this season; particularly in the alternate universe? I always forget to look.
