Well, I sat down with Sandstorm last night to give it a quick read-thru. There's some stuff that's WOW!, some stuff that's not, and the rest seems okay.

Then I pulled Frostburn down off the shelf - I could feel the cold wind biting at me as I flipped through the pages. (Then I closed the patio door and I was fine.) No comparison.

I get a lot more cool inspiration from Frostburn than I do from the somewhat tepid Sandstorm (puns most definitely intended).

So, you have both books - what do you think?

I found them to be not that exciting. Frost and Fur I like better then Froistburn and will actually get use out of. I don't havea single book that replaces Sandstorm, but the material in a few books does the job for me.

Granted, I have to agree that Frost and Fur was a good book but seeing that no one else in the party wants to see it if it doesn't have the WotC marking, that means that we have been using Frostburn lately... I am getting Sandstorm tomorrow but I have read many things in it already. I am sure everything will work out ok, just hav to bring up the low level of expectations by tweaking some things...

I like Monkeygod, I like them a lot but Frostburn kicked Frost and Fur's ass.

I love Frostburn. I have no doubt that I wont love Sandstorm. I am currently designing a fair amount of critters, templates, spells and other things for the portion of my homebrew that is a vast desert.
