I particularly like the expanded temperature effects table
.

So how does it work? Does it change the effects of existing teperateure ranges, or add colder ranges below the current ones?

And I'd have to say its a bit silly that a temeperature table has been divided between books. WOTC should at least give us the same weather extreme table in both books.

I was lukewarm (pun unintentional, I assure you) on Frostburn. I saw the art gallery and was a little intrigued, but I didn't think I'd like it all *that* much.

Fortunately, I had a little extra cash so I picked this (and MMIII) up and..

Woah.

There be some good stuff in here, mateys!

I'll definitely be finding ways to use some of this in my Eberron campaign. Looks like it's time for a trip into the mountains or..hmm..maybe even to Frostfell...

I'm just hoping this makes it into the SRD someday. I'd love to put some of this into a campaign setting I'm working on.... I'm already fitting some Frost & Fur stuff into my setting, and this would enhance it greatly.

Extreme Heat = 140 F+
Severe Heat = 110-140F
Hot = 90-110 F
Warm = 60-90 F
Moderate = 40-60 F
Cold = 0-40 F
Severe Cold = -20-0F
Extreme Cold = -50 to -20 F
Unearthly Cold = under -50F

Increasing levels of cold require more protection to resist, and deal damage (both cold and non-lethal) more frequently to unprotected creatures. Altitude, Wind-Chill and other factors change the "band" of temperature you use.

All of this builds on what is presented in the DMG.

You can also find some of this in Wolfgang Baur's "Raiders of the Black Ice" adventure in Dungeon #115 (which uses elements from Frostburn).

Cheers!

THe web enchancement is cool, too. But I wish they had included icegaunt stats, but oh well. A normal incorporeal undead with the Cold type and cold damage will have to do.

I plan to as soon as I get done reading.

Which I can't do tonight 'cause I'm currently in the middle of watching my party get whacked by a needletooth swarm.

I just wanted to mention the extremely pleasing references and further support that Frostburn gives to the following books:

* Stronghold Builder's Guide
* Oriental Adventures
* Living Greyhawk Gazetteer
* Book of Vile Darkness

What support does it give to these four? Especially the BoVD? Also, to what extent does it 'support'? Does it provide rules you 'd need these three to use?

While I think of it, does the MM3 give little break out boxes supporting other products like the FF did?

I really want this book!
