Frostburn - Wow! (and Table of Contents)

What support does it give to these four? Especially the BoVD? Also, to what extent does it 'support'? Does it provide rules you 'd need these three to use?

While I think of it, does the MM3 give little break out boxes supporting other products like the FF did?

I really want this book!

Stronghold Builder's Guide
There's a sidebar describing how Blue Ice may be applied to walls in a stronghold; the traps section also applies. :)

Oriental Adventures
A couple of oriental-themed monsters (like the Yeti ;)) and suggestions on monsters found in oriental frostfell settings.

Living Greyhawk Gazetteer
Descriptions of Telchur and Vatun, two of the Greyhawk gods - (they get new domains: Winter for Telchur and Snow for Vatun). Oh, and Dungeon #115 has a Greyhawk adventure using the rules from Frostburn. :)

Book of Vile Darkness
The City of Icerazer is the headquarters of the cult of Levistus, one of the Archdevils of Hell. (This gets 22 pages). Although you don't need the BoVD to use this, it makes a nice addition.

Deities and Demigods
The Disciple of Thrym PrC (lord of Frost Giants) and the Midgard Dwarf help along the population of an Asgard world.

Monster Manuals
The Encounter Tables list monsters from MM1, MM2, MM3 and FF, and also have substitution monsters if you don't have the tome in question.

I don't have Monster Manual III yet, though it came into Ballarat. Alas, I'm out of money (again). :( I could barely afford Frostburn, but I was really, really curious.

Cheers!

I particularly like the expanded temperature effects table, and look forward to its completion in Sandstorm

Completion? I'm waiting for the aquatic/undersea environmental supplement. ;)

Frostburn isn't a cultural book by any stretch of the imagination (though it has some such elements). It's definitely a book to help build interesting games in very cold conditions.

As such, it's likely to see quite a bit of use at my table. :)

Cheers!

The book also contains one of the best pieces of D&D art I've ever seen - turn to page 23 to see it, or follow this link:
You're right, that is a very cool piece of artwork (no pun intended). And it shows adventurers adventuring...or at least, about to get in one heck of a scrap. That helps the old imagination take flight. :)
