FRP Games selling entire D&D miniature line

Id be more inclined to spring for that if they sold it based on the value of each mini. Though the $3.44 is an average.

Anyone know the value of the whole set with each piece priced individually?

"Get 'em while they're hot!

"Don't worry, the next expansion will change the mix entirely!

"Just treat 'em like they are Magic: the Gathering!"

So far, I think the minis are appealing much, much more to collectors than to gamers. That certainly is they way it is running at my FLGS.

New shipment of 24 packs in on Wednesday. Sold on Thursday to one guy...

Ths cost of buying the entire set individualy on FRPgmes site is $276.20 (that may be a bit off, I got kinda bug-eyed after the second page :D) but they are out of most of the rares and uncommons. At this point they only have 1 complete set available.

The minis range in price from .39 to 8.99

Okay...So they are selling each mini for $3.44. (that is breaking the cost down per mini)

A booster pack is $10.00.

Nope I do not think this is worth it or even kind of worth it. I know a guy who has bought maybe 10 packs and is only missing 3 of the minis. Not to mention that he now has multiples to trade off so that he can get the 3 he needs. I mean I have only bought 6 packs and we already have 2 shamblers and 2 centars. I like getting multiples because we use them in our dnd game. So having 3 zombies is great. Why would you not just trade off for the ones that you dont have. I dont understand why you would not just go on ebay or call your freind and get the one that you need. There is even a gaming shop in my town that is going open his boosters, up and start selling the singles. That is if they ever stop running out.

However FRPgms seems to be having good luck with it, and more power to them. I would never pay that much.

Funny Economics

It's funny how there where many naysayers whining that the randomized miniatures line was a bad idea and would never sell...

WotC announced recently that they had already gone over the 1,000,000 sold mark on these minis that were a bad idea and would never sell.

I wonder how that crow tastes?

I was hyped for these things when I first heard about them. I'd say there was a vocal minority strongly against them around here but that's the way things work. Usually the people who are against something are louder than the people for something, and that is certainly not exclusive to ENworld.

I was hoping the miniature line would do well from the start. These things are great.

I don't see how this is possible since there is only 1 rare per box. Since there are over 25 minis that are "rare" the above figures are not possible, unless I have been misinformed as to the makeup of the boxes.

Can anyone verify that there could be more than 1 rare in a box?

Only if there is a mistake. I believe the above person means by either trading or purchasing individual figures. It is possible, but you need a large group to trade with.

EDIT: Oh, and it is possible to trade uncommons and commons for rares. The lizardmen look like they should be rares, for example. ;)

You are correct. There is only 1 rare per box and there are 30 rares out of the 80 miniature set. This means that you would need to purchase a minimum of 30 booster packs (assuming you are very lucky) in order to get a complete set.

I have purchased 1 starter and 36 boosters and I ended up 9 miniatures short of a full set. I have since traded for or bought individually those 9 and as soon as they arrive in the mail my set will be complete. I paid an average of $7 a booster with shipping and so my total cost was approximately $275 (including the starter). This does not include the money that I have spent on shipping for trades or to purchase a couple of singles off of the web.

Uhh, Ash... this is not computing. At all. There are... 27 rare minis and only 1 rare per pack. He is AT LEAST 17 short. Not to mention, due to distribution of rare, to uncommon to common in expansion vs. Starter it's near impossible to even get all of the commons in 10 packs. Surely this is a typo.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see the other folks questioning that already. One a lighter note I think I've been very fortunate. I've picked up 21-25 boosters and 3 starters, made two trades and an now only missing 8 minis from having a complete set. I think only 5 of those are rare. Still missing some uncommons like Evoker's Apprentice, Gnolls and only got an Azer yesterday.
