Fruit on cereal

Bananas and Cheerios is one of those mystical combinations that just works.

I just started buying Special K Red Berries, with freeze-dried strawberries. It's awesome.

It'll do it for banannas to, if they're not too mushy. You just chop the banana into thirds, pop it in to the egg slicer, and voila, sliced fruit.

And, if you're hosting some sort of party which requires sliced fruit, (like a brunch with belgian waffles), you can look super fancy with minimal effort. :)

Egg slicers are also a handy tool for a chef to use slicing mushrooms. You need a fairly hardy egg slicer however since mushrooms are rather at the outer egde of toughness for what they can handle.

I broke my egg slicer on mushrooms a few weeks ago. :( Some of the wires came off. Now I need to find a new one.

A thing I've found helpful when using an egg slicer on mushrooms is the put them in upside down. They tend to be easier on the slicer in that configuration.

Bananas and Rice Crispies is my all-time favorite, but I also like peaches & Cheerios.

I also like to have my Rice Krispies or Cheerios with a spoonful of granulated sugar. When I was little and staying with my grandmother, she used to let me do that as a special treat. When the sugar sinks to the bottom of the bowl, it's delicious. :)

I like strawberries and bananas, but only on the unsugared cereals. Blueberries are good too.

Incidentally, they now sell Cheerios with dried fruit mixed in for lazy people. Fresh fruit is much better.
