No, I just get tired of seeing his posts all the time. And apparently he's some kind of moderator. I can't ignore him. Oh well.

I think he said he was one of the "newshounds" here...

I do. I took my daughter to the park today, and we just came back from going swimming. Now she's asleep. I wore her out!

Wearing out kids is always a good thing! ;) Not to mention a regular routine.

I don't wanna see people upset at you, or you upset at them. It bothers me that people argue over things like this on the boards. Really, we have email for this, and mods.

I think the point was that the activity was a bit excessive, but not exactly reportable. Most of us don't care too much, but I'll admit to tuning out when there are a few posts in a row in some threads by the same person. (and 32 posts in 1 thread in less than an hour is quite excessive)

Take what I say as advice, not an attack or criticizem. There's nothing wrong with some posts in good fun, but make sure some of your posts have some amount of usefull content. Otherwise, people will tune you out after a while, even when you do have something important to say.

I'm not the most inocent person here in this manor either, just trying to make a helpfull tip.

Maybe we all, myself included, should be more watchful of the number of posts we make. We wouldn't want to make it look like we "abuse the system" here... Don't want them to remove the postcount=postcount+1 option here like the WOTC boards do with their off-topic/meta forums. There, postcounts don't accrue on those forums.

I love it when people mention me positively in a thread I haven't even posted to yet. You rock, JDiv.
To be fair, I considered it a neutral comment.

Maybe Meta is the place for it, but I think it's good to do this publically so that people know it's frowned upon to have too many inane posts in a row. When a particular mod pointed me out in a thread to tell me not to do this, it was also a warning to other people.

Maybe it's more polite for the offender and the offendee to discuss this one-on-one by email, but I do think it's useful to have an open conversation about it.

Well, yes. The issue isn't a lot of posts, though, it's a lot of posts in a row.
He does that too, but he does it in the games he runs. I've had conversations in game back and forth with him that stretched 10 posts each. Out of game too, but in the game thread, and usually game related.

I would have no problem with them eliminating post count from the OT forums, but then, post count doesn't realy matter to me.

5 posts in a row every once in a while probably shouldn't be a problem.

Please don't make a habit out of it, though. As Piratecat mentioned not too long ago, we'd rather not turn off post count in OT.

Also, this is true as well:
I don't think it's terribly polite to start a thread about you like this, instead of talking to a mod and having the mod talk to you privately, but what do I know?
Thus, I'll close this one.
