Definitely not the best Mad Max movie, but certainly in the top two or three. (That said, they all distantly trail Fury Road, which is an absolute masterpiece.)
Agree completely. I'm still "chasing the high" of seeing Fury Road, unspoiled by anything but the trailer, in the theatre. I don't think there's really been an action movie that good since.

Yeah, put me down for Mad Max: Fury Road was probably the best action movie of the last couple of decades, and was certainly the Best Picture that year, once again overlooked in favor of a weighty, but easily forgotten drama.

We did essentially the same. My wife and I have had exceptional luck with going to Rotten Tomatoes, saying "that has a 99% or 100% rating, let's give it a shot."

We laughed so hard and so continuously at the What We Do in the Shadows movie, which we picked that way, that our kids checked on us because they thought we were having a medical emergency.

That is generally a pretty good bet - I've rarely missed with that sort of RT rating. Honestly if something has a ton of reviews anything above about 91% is likely extremely good (because the larger the sample of the reviews, the more you'll get an imperfect score from simple churlishness). Most recent really good movie I've seen was Anora, that is a truly great movie and also not quite what one expects.
