Furnace Within (Spell from Races of Eberron)

I just thought this was the funniest thing I've seen from an RPG book in a long time. Basically, this is a spell that allows you, if you're a Dwarf, to have burst out of your body and hit everyone around you. But here's what's so funny to me:

Components: V, S, DF, dwarf

So a dwarf's a component now, huh? I'm picturing some guy carrying around this dwarf in a sack just to cast this spell? And is the dwarf "used up" after the spell is gone?

Racial components were in The Book of Vile Darkness and others. It's not that it requires you to have a dwarf. Rather you must be a dwarf.

Edit: Looking at your comments, it strikes me that you were already aware of that.
